Assessment

We check the frame — is it plumb, is it square, is it in good condition? Getting this right before the door goes in is everything.

Sizing & Fitting

The door is trimmed to fit the opening exactly — allowing the correct tolerances for movement and clearance, top, sides and bottom.

Hinge Positions

Hinges are marked and cut precisely. The weight of the door determines the number and type of hinges — done properly, not guessed.

Hang & Test

The door is hung, tested through its full swing, adjusted until the gaps are even and the action is smooth. Then we fit the latch, lock and any ironmongery.

Can you supply the door as well as hang it?

Yes — we can source and supply most door types and hang them, or we're happy to hang a door you've already purchased. Just let us know when you enquire.

How long does it take to hang a door?

A single internal door typically takes 1–2 hours. External doors and more complex installations such as bi-folds or French doors take longer. We'll give you an accurate time estimate when we quote.

Can you hang doors in old or out-of-square frames?

Absolutely. Old properties are rarely perfectly square, and this is where skill really matters. We assess the frame, make any necessary adjustments and hang the door so it looks and works right — even in imperfect openings.

Do you fit the door handles and locks too?

Yes. We fit all door furniture including handles, latches, locks, bolts, letter plates and door closers. We can advise on the best hardware for your door type and use.

What if the frame needs replacing too?

We can fit new door frames and linings as part of the job. If an existing frame is rotten, damaged or poorly fitted, we'll replace it properly before hanging the new door.

Can you hang fire doors to regulation?

Yes. Fire doors require specific intumescent seals, correct hinge types and precise gap tolerances to comply with building regulations. We understand these requirements and fit fire doors correctly.
